Fenwick & Daughters: a 90-year-old law firm, rewritten
A family firm with a new generation of partners. Identity, tone of voice and a website that explains the law in sentences a client can repeat.
Fenwick has handled property and estate law in the same building since 1934. The new partners, three daughters of the founder's son, wanted a firm that looked like them without discarding the history.
Approach
We kept the name and the building's brass plaque, and redrew everything else. A warm serif for headings, a plain sans for the law, and a tone-of-voice guide with one rule: if a client could not repeat it to their partner over dinner, rewrite it.
Website
Every practice area is a plain-language page with a worked example and a fixed-fee indication. The site is built on a CMS the office manager edits herself.
